Ever wanted to learn to sew & use that skill at By Design (missions sewing opportunity)?
Have a sewing machine but don't know how to use it?
Then this Learn to Sew Day is for you!

Friday, September 15, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Class led by Taylor Fisher.

We will learn the basics of machine sewing in a fun, low-key environment. Showing you how to thread your machine, to sew a straight line, to make a turn with your sewing machine and to backstitch. Plus we will practice these skills by sewing a potholder during our time together and you'll get to take home at the end. By the end of the day, you will have basic sewing skills AND an opportunity to sew cloth menstrual pads for women who need them around the world in By Design!

Please bring the following materials if you have them:

  • Sewing Machine (and its manual)
  • Bobbin for your Sewing Machine
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Thread (any color)

Fabric and batting will be provided.

 

Free childcare for children ages 8 weeks - kindergarten with advance registration. If you need childcare, please register separately using the link provided at the end of this registration or the one provided in your confirmation email.

Note: Childcare must be reserved one week in advance of the first day you are attending class.
