SHINE Soccer is an adaptive sports league for individuals age 5 through 25 with special needs.
Join us this summer for soccer! This league is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children to play soccer, learning new skills and having fun. SHINE Buddies are paired with teams and players to help them stay on task, learn new skills, and be safe.
Schedule: Saturday afternoons, June 1 - June 29
Cost: $50 registration includes jersey and shorts
Where: Johnson Ferry Activities Center (air-conditioned)
Two levels of play:
- Level 1: For players with more experience and understanding of Soccer. This division includes less involvement with SHINE Buddies. Score is kept. Children should be able to pass the ball and dribble down court (exception: dribbling rules will be adapted for those who require use of a wheelchair). This division requires a minimum age of 13 years old through age 25.
- Level 2: For players who need more assistance on the court by the use of SHINE Buddies. Referees will be present, but the primary goals include keeping children safe and giving all children the opportunity to succeed. Score is not kept. This division is open for all SHINE children ages 5 through 12 as well as those individuals ages 13-25 who require more assistance.
