"The City of God" | Hebrews 13:7-14

We are seeking:

  1. A better , knowing Jesus is God’s final . (v. 7-9)
  2. A better , knowing God has established a people. (v.10-12)
  3. A better , knowing that God uses our to spread His name. (v. 13-14)

Discussion Questions:

  1. What is your favorite city in the world? Why?
  2. In v. 7, we are told to imitate the faith of Christian leaders. What specific function of their task are we to appreciate about them and what does this say about the priority of Christian leadership?
  3. (v. 9) What “varied and strange” teachings are present today, for which Christians need to be vigilant?
  4. In vv. 10-12, the author is making a connection between sacrifices of the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 16) and Jesus’ bodily sacrifice. What is the point he is trying to make?
  5. In vv. 13-14, a comparison is made between our current (non-permanent) city and the city to come. What are examples of how our current home is non lasting and how are we to daily seek the permanent city to come?
  6. What is one thing the Holy Spirit is prompting you to do after studying/hearing today’s text?
