Wednesday Night GA & RA Programs Begin!
We are so excited to kickoff Wednesday night GA & RA programs beginning Wednesday, August 6!
If you are unfamiliar with GA (Girls in Action - for girls) and RA (Royal Ambassadors - for boys) programming, they are missional-focused programs where children learn the truths of Scripture, build community with peers, and learn about how to take these learn and experience and apply that to reaching others with the same truth/community for Christ. Children will be presented in age appropriate ways with how JFBC interacts with people and organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. There will be speakers and location-specific activities with some hands-on mission opportunities along the way.
We are also looking to grow our GA/RA leader team! If you have interest in serving and helping children be on mission, please reach out to me and I would love to help you get plugged in!
Our year ahead looks to be very exciting! Pre-register today!
Move ATL
JFBC's community outreach week, Move ATL, is the week of August 21-26 with various projects happening throughout the week and culminating in a big Saturday Send-Off (August 26) where there will be even more opportunities for all to serve!
Children in GA's & RA's will have the opportunity to be a part of this week of service by attending their respective programs the Wednesday night of that week, but we encourage you as parents and families to be a part of other activities through the week, especially the big Saturday Send-Off!
Be on the lookout for ways to serve by visiting The Hub and looking under the Local Missions header.

Encourage-Mints
Supplies: small post-it notes, pen, individual mints, stapler, envelope
School is back in session, making it a prime opportunity to reach out to others with the love and encouragement of Jesus. With your child, prepare these little encourage-mints as a way to help your child encourage their classmates, teachers, and/or staff at their school. Make as many or as few as you/your child desire.
- On a small post-it note, write out a short, encouraging Bible verse (examples: Psalm 34:8, Proverbs 18:10, Isaiah 26:3, Isaiah 41:13, Romans 15:13, Philippians 4:13, Philippians 4:19, 2 Thessalonians 3:16, 1 Peter 5:7).
- Staple the post-it note to the plastic surrounding the individual mint(s).
- Place the encourage-mints in an envelope for easy (and organized) access.
- Place the envelope in your child's backpack.
Encourage your child to not give out these encourage-mints all at once, but at various times when they see a classmate, teacher, or school staff need encouragement. It could be that the mints are given out at different points throughout a given day or here/there as the days go by -- however the Lord leads your child.
As you work with your child to prepare these encourage-mints, pray ahead for those who will receive them and that Christ's hope and peace will flood through their hearts and they would be encouraged to look to Him for their strength.
